posted on

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - The Greater Northeast Motorcoach Association (GNEMA) announced the recipients of its 8th Annual Scholarship Awards during the Association’s Annual Member Meeting on Wednesday, September 30, at Tropicana Atlantic City.

The 2026 scholarship recipients are Cade Baker, nominated by Operator Member Wolf’s Bus Lines, and Arleigh Shilling-Askew, nominated by Allied Destination Member Wind Creek Bethlehem. Each recipient was awarded a $1,500 scholarship and commemorative plaque. Tammy Wolf-Baker and Nick Schlegel accepted the awards on behalf of the students.

GNEMA’s Scholarship Program was established to support the higher education goals of Association members, their employees and their families, whether pursuing a college degree or trade certification. The program is funded through GNEMA fundraising initiatives, including the Association’s annual Golf Outing.

Cade Baker (Wolf’s Bus Lines)

Cade Baker is pursuing a degree in sport management at Endicott College, where he has earned a 3.83 GPA and is a member of the ice hockey team. He is also gaining hands-on marketing experience with Wolf’s Bus Lines and plans to take a more active role with the company following graduation.

“My primary goal in college is to combine my passion for athletics with a strong foundation in sport management to build a successful career in the sports and transportation industries,” Cade shared.

Arleigh Shilling-Askew (Wind Creek Bethlehem)

Arleigh Shilling-Askew is studying cybersecurity at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, where she has earned a 4.0 GPA and serves as president of the Digital Forensics and Cyber Defense Club. She is active in cybersecurity conferences and community service and provides IT support for the university police department. Her goal is to pursue a career in public-service cybersecurity.

“I want to learn as much about computers, more specifically cybersecurity, as I possibly can,” Arleigh shared. “By the time I leave university, I want to be the most ‘workforce-ready’ version of myself I can be, including technical and professional development.”

GNEMA President Tim Stout congratulated both recipients and thanked the members of the Scholarship Committee for their time and commitment to supporting the next generation.

The GNEMA Scholarship Program is open to full-time employees of Operator Member companies and their dependent children, as well as employees of Allied Member companies and their dependent children. Additional eligibility requirements and application information are available on the GNEMA Scholarship Program webpage.
